Hughes Occupational Consultants provide a full range of vocational rehabilitation services to return Injured Employees back to work. HOC offers Return-to-Work Services to Injured Employees covered by the Supplemental Job Placement Nontransferable Training Voucher (DWC-AD). HOC's staff has met the state qualifications for Vocational Return-to-Work Counselors (VRTWC) and can provide the following:

Initial Evaluation
A comprehensive personal interview and review of medical data to determine the injured employee's ability to benefit from vocational rehabilitation services.

Vocational Testing
Ability and interest inventories to assist with job goal identification.

Rehabilitation Plan Development
Development of a RU-102 Plan following the guidelines as set forth by the State of California Rehabilitation Unit/Office of Benefit Determination.

Labor Market Assessment
An analysis of the local labor market demands to determine if specific placement is available.

Counseling
Sessions are oriented to help the injured employee cope with their disability limitations, career, and lifestyle changes.

Reporting
Documentation of counselor's activities, employee's participation and anticipated rehabilitation direction are submitted every 30 days.

Job Seeking Skills Workshop
An individual and group approach to teaching the skills necessary for successful job search and resume development.

Job Placement
Direct efforts in contacting employers, arranging interviews and otherwise assisting the injured employee to obtain employment.

Out-of-State Rehabilitation Cost Analysis
Evaluation to determine cost effectiveness under the $16,000 Cap.

Written and Video Job Analyses
Comprehensive breakdown of job duties and physical demands to assist in the determination of an injured employee's medical eligibility for vocational rehabilitation.

90-Day Benefits Call
A short meeting with the injured employee explaining their rights and benefits, and completion of a RU-91 (Job Description). This job description is then forwarded to the treating physician for determination of an injured employee's medical eligibility for vocational rehabilitation services.

All services are available in Spanish, Armenian, and Iranian at no extra cost.
